Garb Sewing Day
If you are new to sewing and will need assistance then let me know which weekend you would prefer because I’d like to give everyone an opportunity to get an outfit completed.
Peeps willing to assist new-to-sewing folks - just let me know when you plan on attending. I will provide a lunch tray.
Please plan to arrive around 9am and work until about 6pm - we can finish up the next day (Sunday) if need be.
What to bring:
- A middle to heavy weight fabric in a more natural fabric at least 3 yards (if 60 inches wide - 5 yards if 45 inches wide) and prewashed.
- A fairly clear idea of what you want to make.
- A fitted shirt or jacket that fits you (I’m incredibly visual and this helps me.)
- If you have fabric scissors, buttons, trim, thread, patterns, and the like you are welcome to bring them but don’t feel that you need to bring all that to participate!
I have all that and am willing to share. Suzanne has volunteered some lighter-weight cotton or cotton flannel (both are white) if you want to make shirts, chamois, pants, or t-tunics. Let her know how much you would like and she will pre-wash and bring it on Saturday.
I think that covers it. I will have coffee and tea - other beverages you should probably bring with you.
